The Greek bass Christoforos Stampoglis has appeared in the world's largest lyric theaters (New York Metropolitan Opera, London Royal Opera Covent Garden, Real Madrid Theater, Grand Théâtre de Genéve, Glyndebivalne Bayerische Staatsoper etc). In his music and technical formation, an important role was played by the "Maria Callas Scholarships" that supported him in his studies, the late Chr. Lambrakis and Kostas Paskalis and finally the great Greek bassist D. Kavrakos with whom he studies to this day. He considers himself an artistic nurture of the National Opera where he made his first important steps and of the Athens Concert Hall where he had the good fortune to collaborate with great artists. He has also collaborated many times with the Athens State Orchestra and the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir as well as the Thessaloniki State Orchestra.
He has given many personal recitals as well as religious music concerts. His repertoire exceeds 100 roles and he has recorded for EMI Classics, Bongiovanni, Rossini Opera Festival as well as LYRA. Recently, the new performance of Barber of Seville of the Glyndebourne Festival, where he plays the role of Don Basilio, was released on DVD.
