200 YEARS OF GREEK ENTEKHNO MUSIC: HISTORICAL RETROSPECTION

Organizer: THESSALONIKI STATE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA IN COLLABORATION WITH THESSALONIKI CONCERT HALL IN THE FRAMEWORK OF 56th DIMITRIA

In accordance with the recent regulations, spectators are required to present:
i)  a vaccination certificate issued by a certified authority or
ii) certificate of recovery from the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection issued by a public authority or a certified laboratory


All spectators are required to wear face masks throughout their stay in the Thessaloniki Concert Hall
The Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra presents a historical retrospection to the 200 years of Greek entekhno music at the 56th Dimitria. Under the musical direction of Vyron Fidetzis, works from different periods of the last two centuries are presented, including important milestones in the evolution of Greek music, some of which are even performed for the first time in Thessaloniki.
On the occasion of this partnership with him, we also honour and completion of half a century since the first collaboration of the then young Vyron Fidetzis with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra as a cello soloist, when he performed (October 1971) the Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-Flat Minor, Op. 107 by Dmitry Shostakovich.
