Rüya Taner from the Turkish Community of Northern Cyprus began her early music training with her father, soon giving concerts and television appearances in her own country. In 1983, a state scholarship enabled her to come to study in London at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. The winner of many prizes, Taner has participated in the masterclasses of Pascal Roge (Nice) and Pascal Devoyon (London) and has played extensively in England and Europe, returning each year to give concerts in Northern Cyprus. Rüya Taner is a regular concert soloist with leading orchestras in Turkey, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Bosnia Herzegovina and in 1995 played works for two pianos with Pascal Roge. Current CD releases include Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 recorded live with the Brussels Royal Conservatoire Orchestra conducted by Emin Güven Yaşlıçam (BD 9801). Her second CD, Sweet Waters of Europe was created specially for her by Ateş Orga, recorded in the “Dvorak Hall” of the Prague Rudolfinum, released on the A.K. Music Label. Her “Wigmore Hall” recital in 1998 received much acclaim from the British Press. .
