A group of artists from Turkey, Greece and Armenia, in collaboration with the Armenian Community and Unesco, created in 2001 in Paris the organization ADAP (Αssociation des Artistes pour la Paix). Their purpose was to organize musical events all over the world that would minister the need and the possibility of reconciliation between people with conflicts and disagreements. For this reason, each musical ensemble would be composed of renowned artists coming from these countries.
The Organization’s activities started with two concerts in the Grand Hall of Unesco in Paris in 2003. Today, ADAP is considered one of the most important initiatives for peace in our wider area and a creative, lively community of musicians. Even though a basic group of participants remains permanent, the persons and their artistic expertise are the flexible elements of an open group of artists.
The basic structure of ADAP today is a scheme of ten pianists (Greece, Israel, Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, USA, Armenia and Iran) who present a program of different combination at one, two, three or four pianos.
