Danae Papamattheou - Matschke
Violin
Danae Papamattheou - Matschke is one of the most promising Greek violinists of the younger generation.
Born in Athens, she started playing the violin at the age of five.
She studied with Prof. Igor Ozim at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and completed her second postgraduate course "Konzertexamen" in 2017 with honors at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg in the violin class of Prof. Tanja Becker-Bender.
Currently she is a PhD student at the Macedonian University of Thessaloniki.
First prizes were awarded to her amongst others at the International Violin Competition "Andrea Postacchini", at the International Violin Competition "Henri Marteau", at the Music Competition "Jugend musiziert". She repeatedly received scholarships from Greek and German foundations and institutions.
Danae Papamatthäou - Matschke has performed in Germany, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Cyprus, USA and China.
As a soloist, she has performed with a variety of symphony orchestras.
In Greece with the State Orchestra of Athens and Thessaloniki, the "KAMERATA" and the Orchestra of the Greek Radio and Television (ERT).
She has produced two CDs of works for violin and piano at "IRIDA Classical".
