The Greek-Turkish Young Orchestra is maybe (along with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, composed of musicians from Israel, Palestine and other Arab countries) one of the two most important young orchestras in the wider area east of Greece that aspire to the strengthening, via the musical cooperation, of the relations between countries that face longtime political conflicts.
Orchestra’s musicians are not permanent, but change in an annual base. The same applies to the case of Divan Orchestra and this fact allows this musical ensemble to keep its fresh, youngish character and its flexible, multidimensional repertoire.
