The 7th Baroque Music Festival, under the title The Age of Experimentation, focuses on the highly original and imaginative music of the 17th century, characterized by unbridled creativity and diversity and a pervasive spirit of modernity, exploration and experimentation. During the 17th century, the foundations were laid, and the characteristics of all subsequent Western classical music were born. This is when the various musical forms (opera, cantata, sonata, suite, concerto, symphony), the families of instruments, their technical development and the very concept of virtuosity appear and evolve, and when the Western tonal system and harmony are developed. The festival presents the most important and interesting aspects of this wonderful period of music, traversing the 17th century in four concerts with distinguished and leading European and Greek baroque musicians.
