YORGOS KAZANTZIS: FOR A BIG ORCHESTRA

The composer Yorgos Kazantzis, in collaboration with the Thessaloniki City Symphony Orchestra, presents an anthology of his orchestral works, orchestrated, as always, by the composer himself. A concert that retraces his musical journey in search of his personal style and is characterized by pieces that have shaped his orchestral world. We will hear well-known pieces with cinematic atmosphere that have been beloved in Greece and abroad, including The Waltz of Utopia, Sorokos and the orchestral version from the soundtrack of the TV series Agries Melisses (Wild Bees). We will also have the opportunity to enjoy some of the composer’s favorite songs arranged in symphonic style and performed by the great Vasilis Lekkas. These songs include Cheimonanthos, Itane Aeras, Melisses, as well as songs from their joint album Katarti ki Atmos.
 The orchestral medley will be accompanied by an interactive video-representation, created from the variations and fluctuations in the frequency and dynamics of the orchestra's sounds.
