The programme begins with Psalm 22, performed in Judaeo-Spanish by the soprano Mariangela Chatzistamatiou, followed by the captivating Adagio for Strings by Barber, the most popular American symphonic work which reverently spreads serenity and bliss, creating a sense of elevation in the sky.
Gil Shaham performs the majestic Violin Concerto by Beethoven, perhaps the most important work of its kind. A witty creation of the leading composer that adds lyricism to his performances in order to express high ideals and reflect on Eros, Freedom and Democracy.
