Richard Strauss, who has been called the last of the German romantics, has a rich oeuvre produced in a creative career of over sixty years. His writing is brave and innovative, with an intense dramatic element while his great composition skill utilizes all the possibilities of a symphony orchestra. Dimitris Botinis conducts the TSSO in works that combine the freshness of the ideas of Strauss's youthful writing with the compositional wisdom of his later years.
