MUSIC IN OUR LIVES - MUSIC, PHYSICS, ASTRONOMY AND MATHS

Music is poetry, philosophy and science. It awakens the most beautiful and noble feelings of the soul, generating inspirational philosophical thoughts, it discreetly surrounds science with a distinct inner light transforming it into music, while music itself simultaneously acquires and shapes the objective outline of scientific expression. The sciences, physics, astronomy and maths, inspire music and harmonize it with the perceptual world of natural phenomena, the world of the universe, objective observation, thought and theoretical logic. Without the limitation of words and in the vast world of interchanging sounds, music freely expresses all the scientific findings, current concerns and, especially, future quests in the endless space of the multidimensional field of science. Thus, the mystical internal language of music often becomes the prophetic language of science. 
The Thessaloniki Friends of Music Society wants to highlight the secret harmony between the language of music and the objective voice of science and are thus organising a workshop on the subject of Music, physics, astronomy and maths. Expert musicians and scientists are invited to reveal the scientific face of music while seeking out the inner melody in the objective dialogue of physics, the universe and maths, as it is shaped during the course of man's journey towards knowledge and truth.
