The resume of American composer and professor of Greek descent Christophoros Theofanidis has a significant number of works, often elected by the top orchestras in the world. Award winning Rainbow Body was inspired by the Tibetan monk teachings by the same name, while the demanding Violin Concerto was written by renowned violinist Sarah Chang, who participated actively in the composition, especially in the skilful interchanges, the result being a challenge for even the most talented performer. Antonis Sousamoglou “picks up the gauntlet” in an exceptionally interesting duel: Shostakovich's popular Jazz suite no 2 is a composition filled with life, reminiscent of the nightclubs of the 20s and 30s.
The TSSO will be conducted by Myron Michailidis.
