MANOS LOIZOS: 80 YEARS

The work of Manos Loizos, at times sharp and political and at others erotic and nostalgic, remains alive and timely in our collective memory. Honouring the 80th anniversary since his birth, the T.S.S.O. and the T.C.H. invite the audience to an original musical meeting. 
Top performer and collaborator of Manos Loizos, Dimitra Galani, one of the most important contemporary song writers, Foivos Delivorias, and one of the most outstanding voices in popular music, Giota Nega, will interpret the creator’s most well known songs, adapted for the symphony orchestra, in search of the eclectic connections to classical composers through new, subversive orchestrations.
At the same time, the T.S.S.O. will present the first performance of Antonis Sousamoglou’s Symphonic Suite, based on the musical themes of the composer being honoured. The orchestra will be conducted by Miltos Logiades, a Thessaloniki audience favourite and long-term collaborator of the T.S.S.O.
