DANCING FOR LIFE

This event started in 2005, when the tsunami hit Asia. Its aim was for folk tradition artists to actively participate in and support the aid given to the disaster victims in Asia. The response of the people who warmly embraced the event was truly impressive. This could well be explained by the fact that it is probably the major event associated with folk traditions in Thessaloniki, organised by four widely acclaimed agencies (“Kyklos” [Circle], “Eknefsis” [sideturn], “Chorostates” [Leading Dancers], Thessaloniki Dance Association). Besides, the goal is for the proceeds of the event to be channelled to agencies looking after children that are not highly promoted despite producing worthy work and putting a lot of effort into it.
So far, we have cooperated with the Association of Cancer Patients of Macedonia-Thrace, Down Syndrome Association of Greece, Association of Parents with Children with Malignant Diseases, the “Paidika Oneira” [Children’s Dreams] Association, ‘Anoixis’ Langadas’ Parents’ Association, Doctors of the World, Agios Stylianos Volunteers’ Association, etc.
