JOINT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE MICROBIOKOSMOS & CEESME

Welcome Letter
Dear Colleagues,
The increasing interest in environmental microbiology and microbial ecology has now surpassed the limits of the scientific community as the importance and roles of microorganisms have come to the forefront, not only for several pressing environmental issues but also for sustainability reasons.
At these exciting times for our science, we are happy to announce and invite all interested parties to share our work progress and future plans at the joint conference of the MikroBioKosmos Society & The Central and East Europe Symposium of Microbial Ecology (#mbkceesme2025), in Thessaloniki, Greece, between 22 and 24 September 2025.
As with all the previous MikroBioKosmos conferences, this one will be a scientific fest on all possible (and impossible!) aspects of microbial life in terrestrial and aquatic habitats, agriculture and food science, biotechnology and bioengineering, climate change, bioeconomy, antimicrobial resistance and host-microbe interactions.
We believe that Thessaloniki will be an easily reachable and irresistible venue for microbial ecologists, especially from the region of Central and East Europe to disseminate their work and strengthen their professional networks.
At #mbkceesme2025 we will give extra attention to the early-career researchers in the field of environmental microbiology and microbial ecology.
We look forward to seeing you all in Thessaloniki during the MBKCEESME 2025 conference.
