Miguel Henry

Miguel Henry is a renowned lutenist specializing in Renaissance music, but he also plays a variety of early plucked string instruments, including the theorbo, cittern, and baroque guitar.
He has a strong theoretical background in composition, analysis, and music history, and has performed as a soloist in prestigious concert hall (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Opéra Comique, and the Salle Richelieu of the Comédie-Française…)
 He is regularly invited to perform with many ensembles, such as Doulce Mémoire, L'Achéron, Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien, and Ensemble Pygmalion.
As a composer, he collaborates with Raphaël Pichon to reconstruct and complete early musical works such as L'Orfeo by Luigi Rossi, Miranda by Purcell, and L'Ercole by Cavalli. His own compositions can also be heard in concerts (e.g., Magnus Eroticus with the Greek National Opera), radio events (e.g., Toprak and Iphigénie on France Culture), and theatrical productions (e.g., Péplum Médiéval with O. Martin-Salvan and Claudel en partage with A. Veaux).
In 2023, he founded the Ensemble Les Présences and recorded his first CD as conductor and composer: Utrique Fidelis (EnPhases label).  www.ensemble-lespresences.com.
Miguel Henry is also a lute teacher at the CRR of Tours in France.
