Daniel Jinga

Daniel Jinga studied at the National University of Music, Bucharest, graduating in 2003. In 2004, he completed a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting and the Stylistics of Conducting at the same institution, which awarded him the title of Doctor of Music in 2012.
In 2003, Marin Constantin appointed him second conductor of the famous Madrigal National Chamber Choir, which came as confirmation of his skills as a conductor. In pursuit of the purest authenticity in choral expression, he left Madrigal to found the Acoustic Chamber Choir along with a number of leading figures from his own musical generation.
In 2009, he made his debut with the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, conducting tenor Vlad Miriță in the “Ascultă, Simte, DescOperă” spectacular. It was the first in a long series of events held in both major concert halls and the open air at which he conducted stars from every musical genre.
In 2012 he won the competition held by the Bucharest National Opera to fill the post of Choirmaster. At the same time, he conducted a host of orchestras from Bucharest and around the country.
In 2015, he was appointed first conductor of the Muntenia Symphony Orchestra in Tîrgoviște. In 2016, he became first conductor of the Bucharest Metropolitan Orchestra, conducting a remarkable series of galas and independent musical productions.
From January 2019 to December 2020, he was Artistic Director of the Bucharest National Opera, of which he has been the Director General since March 2021.
