A SHORT NOTE FROM DANIEL
“From the many crazy violin concertos by Vivaldi through the late romantic gems by Elgar, Nielsen, Korngold and Szymanowski to great 20th century classics such as Bartók, Schnittke, Glass, Adams, Lindberg, Ligeti, Ferneyhough, Piazzolla... I love it all! Some repertoire with conductors, and other pieces as conductor-soloist. I also love working with composers and commissioning new works. Nothing is more exciting than the first reading of a newly written work by Marcelo Nisinman, Isidora Zebeljan, Pēteris Vasks, Kaja Saariaho, Roxanna Panufnik, Søren Nils Eichberg, Albert Schnelzer, Robert Davidson, Cecilia Damstrom, Tamir Odeh-Tamimi... I approach every work with the freshest possible eyes, and I love creating programmes with great contrasts, full of surprises!”
