Philipp Stubenrauch

Since 2004 principal double bass of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchester, Philipp Stubenrauch began to learn the piano at the age of six, and the double bass when he was thirteen, first taking lessons with Alexandru Chis in Konstanz and later becoming a member of the Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra before enrolling in Franco Petracchi’s soloist’s class in Geneva, graduating with the Diplôme de Soliste, with honours, in 2006.
Philipp Stubenrauch is a prizewinner at national and international competitions, including the German Federal ‘Jugend Musiziert’ Competition, Julio Cardena competition (Portugal) and the International Markneukirchener Music Competition. He performs as a soloist with orchestras and as chamber musician through Europe, the USA, Asia and Latin America.
