Emanuel Salvador, violonist, hailed by The Strad Magazine as „one of the finest Portuguese violinists of his generation”, has graced stages across four continents as a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster. His performances have captivated audiences in prestigious venues such as Tokyo Opera City, the Jiangxi Arts Centre in China, the Lutosławski Concert Studio in Poland, the Nezahualcoyotl Hall in Mexico, and the National Auditorium in Madrid.
Throughout his illustrious career, Emanuel has garnered numerous accolades, including prizes at the Isolde Menges Competition (RCM), Jovens Músicos, and Beckenham Festival. He has also been honored with the Barbirolli Memorial and Wolfson Foundation Awards, a Gulbenkian Foundation Scholarship, and various Instituto Camões grants. His formal education culminated with a Bachelor of Music degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Professor John Glickman, followed by a Master’s degree in Advanced Performance at the Royal College of Music, where he studied with Dr. Felix Andrievsky.
As a concerto soloist, Emanuel has performed with over thirty orchestras worldwide, including the Sinfónica de Brasília, Orquesta de la Radio Mexicana, the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra, the Częstochowa Philharmonic, and the Thessaloniki Orchestra. His festival appearances include the Macau International Music Festival, Usedomer MusikFestival in Germany, Guimarães European Capital of Culture 2012, Ohrid Summer Festival in Macedonia, and the Eternal Spring Chamber Music Festival in Mexico.
An avid chamber musician, Emanuel has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Daniel Stabrawa, Konstantin Heidrich, Andriy Viytovych, Vasko Vassilev, and Ronaldo Rolim. He was a founding member of the Vianna da Motta Piano Trio and the Guimarães String Quartet. His discography includes recordings on the DUX, Divine Art, and Odradek labels, and he has been featured on national TV and radio stations in China, Poland, Lithuania, Portugal, and Spain.
Emanuel served as concertmaster of the Orquestra do Norte in Portugal from 2005 to 2015 and later took on the role of concertmaster at the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra in Poland. As a guest concertmaster, he has collaborated with ensembles such as the Spanish National Orchestra, Seoul Classical Players, Remix Ensemble, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, and Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias. He is also the artistic director of both the Guimarães Clássico Festival and the Szczecin Classic Festival.
