Anastasia Vaina

Violin
Greek violinist Anastasia Vaina is a first year undergraduate student at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studies with professor Richard Deakin and she is a current scholar of the ‘Athena Foundation’.  Anastasia is born in Thessaloniki in 1997. She began playing the violin at the age of 6. Anastasia graduated with the Greek National Diploma on violin performance from the State Conservatory of Music in Thessaloniki-Greece winning the first prize, where she studied with Omiros Yavroumis. As a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) since 2013 she has toured throughout Europe and worked with great conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vasily Petrenko, Gianandrea Noseda, Xian Zhang and Krzysztof Urbańsky. Anastasia has performed twice as a soloist with the City of Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra in Megaron Concert Hall in Thessaloniki.She has won several national and international competitions including ‘The Muse International Competition’ in Santorini-Greece in 2013. She attended masterclasses with many famous violinists such as Zakhar Bron, Maxim Vengerov, Marina Kesselman, Midori Goto, Ivry Gitlis, Bohuslav Matousek and Gidon Kremer and she has recorded for the Greek National Radio and Television in 2013.
