The Berliner Symphoniker have shaped the cultural landscape of Berlin and enriched the classical music scene all over the world for over forty years. By virtue of their continuously evolving musical tradition, internationally-successful tours and trans-regional acknowledgement, the Berliner Symphoniker have become a globally-recognised trademark.
Own Concerts
On Sunday afternoons, the Berliner Symphoniker offer a separate concert and subscriber series in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, with wide-ranging classical and popular programmes. The Berliner Symphoniker now traditionally play two New Year's Eve concerts at 15:00 and 18:30 hours with atmospheric classical works in the Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonic.
Broader Cultural Work
Thanks to their broader cultural efforts, the Berliner Symphoniker have gained popularity and esteem far beyond the borders of their hometown. The "Orchestras in Schools" scheme was considered extremely illustrative and educational and has since been imitated in many other towns and cities.

In 2007, Berliner Symphoniker´s CD, 'Latin Music' was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award as the Best Classical Album; the latest recordings on CD also bear witness to the prolific work of the Berliner Symphoniker.
Worldwide Festivals and Tours
The Berliner Symphoniker give guest performances both at home and abroad and have made a name for itself at international festivals across the globe. The Berliner Symphoniker's tours, e.g. in Brazil, have been acclaimed by the local press as artistic events of greatest significance.
Concerts in Europe
Repeated invitations to successful concert tours, for example to England, Italy, Spain and Switzerland, bear testimony to the orchestra's continuity and to the appreciation of its artistic quality. In 2006, the Berliner Symphoniker delighted audiences in Spain and Switzerland. The Berliner Symphoniker gave a guest performance at the 2008 Festival MúsicaMallorca. In cooperation with this festival, the Berliner Symphoniker will stage a concert in the Berliner Philharmonic Hall on 17 April 2011. In 2009, the Berliner Symphoniker enthralled all at the Wörthersee Classics Festival in Klagenfurt and, in May 2010, the orchestra played 4 concerts to full houses in Spain.
Concerts in Asia
The Berliner Symphoniker's tour to Japan in 2002, 2004, as well as in 2007, 2008 and in June/ July 2010 with 16 concerts have repeatedly been highlights of the tour schedule in recent years. In December 2005, hugely successful concert tours were carried out in South Korea and China. The Berliner Symphoniker embarked on a major tour of China in December 2008, during which the orchestra performed 12 concerts, including a benefit concert for the victims of the earthquake.
Concerts in Africa
The Berliner Symphoniker played concerts in Cairo and Alexandria at the invitation of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and the Cairo Opera House.
Concerts in South America
The Berliner Symphoniker enjoyed triumphant success in the autumn of 2001 during a major tour of South America, which took in five countries on this continent. In 2007, the Berliner Symphoniker made guest appearances at two concerts in Buenos Aires and performed a further seven concerts at the International Festival in Ushuaia in Argentina. Immediately afterwards, we were invited back to perform in Buenos Aires in 2008.
