Lukas Karytinos
Conductor
Born in Athens, he studied Music at the Athens Conservatory and Law at the Univeristy of Athens From 1976 to 1981 he studied conducting at the University of Arts of W. Berlin under Professor H. Ahlendorf. At the same time he was attending seminars for conducting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Lukas Karytinos has not only made frequent appearances with all Greek Orchestras, but also participated in the Athens, Arena di Verona, Caracalla, Toulouse, Las Palmas and other festivals. Apart from Greece he has conducted orchestras in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and other countries and he has worked with orchestras susch as the Suisse Romande, W.D.R., R.S.O., State Opera Cologne, Komische Oper Berlin etc. He has recorded for BMG, WEA, CBS and ETERNA.
