After parallel studies in Law (Athens University) and music (National Conservatory in Athens, Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris) he dedicated himself to conducting, which he studied near Alexandre Myrat and later near Sergiu Celibidache.
His first professional engagements included a conducting assistantship in the “Orchestra ton Chromaton” – Athens as well as recordings with the Athens Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In 1989 he founded the “Athens Lyrical Workshop”, a theatrical structure subsequently subsidized by the state, and conducted new productions of a series of 20th century musical theatre works such as Pierrot Lunaire, L’Histoire du Soldat as well as Greek contemporary works.
Since that time, he has collaborated as guest conductor with most Greek orchestras, such as the Athens Radio Symphony Orchestra, the State Orchestras of Athens and Thessaloniki and the Athens Camerata. His international activities have led him to concerts in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Mexico and Japan.
He is currently Artistic Director at the Athens Concert Hall.
