Garry DW Judd's music is driven by such diverse influences as the English Experimentalists, Erik Satie and Percy Grainger. His music has been played on BBC Radio 3, Scala Radio, ClassicFM, and other broadcasters worldwide, by such performers as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Community Gospel Choir, Leslie Howard and Courtney Pine. Garry has also worked extensively in music for film and television and specialises in writing music to picture and mixing in 5.1 and Dolby Atmos.
Current classical projects include a collaboration with the Henry Moore Foundation, solo piano collections imaginary music and Electric Nocturnes and pieces for soprano and piano, clarinet quartet, and others in collaboration with Three Essential Elements (ThrEE).

"When I was given the exciting prospect of writing a piece for the Ancient Greek Lyre, my first thought was, “How can I, as an English person, find a way into writing something for an instrument with such a rich and cultural history." I found my way in through the Greek language and the way that this has hugely influenced the world.
The sonata begins with Jungian concepts as referenced by composer Michael Tippet, moves to thoughts on empathy and ends with a reference to Mount Parnassus via ‘pataphysics.
Moreover, I hope that I’ve composed something which is an entertaining listen and takes advantage of Prof. Xanthoulis’ incredible virtuosity on this extraordinary instrument.”
