K. Pawłowski: Suite for piano and orchestra on Beatles’ melodies
The Thessaloniki City Symphony Orchestra will perform a special concert for the city’s audience with the world premiere of two works. The first is a jazz concerto, the Jazzoncerto grosso for two cellos and orchestra by the young Russian composer Alexei Miasin, with soloist Elena Zhuleva, professor of cello at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, and Dmitry Gudimov, the excellent principal cellist of the TSSO. For the second half of the concert, the young Polish composer Kamil Pawlowski created an original piano and orchestra suite by adapting and orchestrating Beatles’ melodies. It will be performed by the Polish pianist Wojciech Waleczek, who has travelled as a soloist to 27 countries in Europe and many more in America, the Middle East and Asia.
