The vibrant MOYSA (Thessaloniki Concert Hall Youth Symphony Orchestra) participates in the 59th Dimitria with a special concert.
The soloist is the world-renowned pianist Martino Tirimo, who has worked with orchestras such as the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra and the BBC Orchestras. His extensive and award-winning discography includes the complete piano works of Beethoven, Mozart, Debussy, Janáček, all of Schubert’s Sonatas, and many concertos.
Conductor Nikos Christodoulou has worked with orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. His discography of Nikos Skalkota’s works with European orchestras for the BIS label has also received many international awards. He has composed works for orchestra, choir, ensembles, as well as songs (Edo Lilipoupoli) that have been performed in Greece and abroad.
