A unique collaboration, a cultural and artistic meeting of young and talented musicians from the United States and Greece will premiere at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
At the initiative of University of Delaware Symphony Orchestra Artistic Director James Anderson, talented young musicians from four orchestras will create a new symphony orchestra that will perform three major concerts in Thessaloniki, Athens and Crete, under the direction of James Anderson and Miltos Logiadis.
The concert program, in order to emphasize the cooperation between the two countries, includes Greek and American composers.
The purpose of this collaboration, stemming from the philosophy espoused by the University of Delaware, is to create innovative, life-changing artistic experiences for students through crucial interaction with different world traditions.
Seeing as the arts have a unique ability to transcend cultural barriers, the University of Delaware fosters multi-phase initiatives focused on cultural events combining visual arts, literature, dance, cinema and music from around the world, featuring talented students and faculty from the University of Delaware and musicians from around the world.
With Greece as the focus for the 2024 program, musicians from three important orchestras of our country, the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Macedonia, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Crete and MOYSA of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, will join the University of Delaware Symphony Orchestra to create a new orchestra of more than 100 musicians on stage, presenting the audience with a unique show and sound.
