Two leading artists return to Thessaloniki for a chamber music recital. The international solo career of the highly sought-after British violinist Daniel Hope spans over 30 years. Known for his musical flexibility and dedication to humanitarian causes, he has been honoured with multiple awards and distinctions, including the “Order of Merit” from the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Cultural Award for Music (2015). The internationally acclaimed Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov is considered one of the most notable performers of Rachmaninoff’s works. He is also the founder and president of the “Odessa Classics” Music Festival.
Since 2021, the duo consisting of Daniel Hope and Alexey Botvinov has recorded four CDs for Deutsche Grammophon, achieving spectacular global success. Among the works included are music by Schnittke, Silvestrov, and a charity project entitled Music for Ukraine. Their most recent recording for DG label was released in June 2023 and features the Piano Concerto No.3 by Philip Glass and the Double Concerto by Tan Dun.
