In this concert the musicians will take us on a trip starting from the chamber music of the medieval and renaissance palace traditions to the classical oriental Mediterranean styles. The ensemble members will approach and give new life to musical texts lost over the centuries, improvising on the basis of orality and flexible acoustic memory, which is the common denominator of European and Mediterranean modal traditions.
A connecting link between the participating artists is the versatility and the researching stance towards the sound arts.
Works by Dimitrios Kantemiris, Alfonso el Sabio, Costanzo Festa, Heinrich Isaak, traditional pieces from Greece, the Balkans and the eastern Mediterranean, as well as works by the members of the ensembles will be performed.
