CHRISTMAS EVENTS
ST. PETERSBURG FESTIVAL BALLET:
THE SLEEPING BEAUTY
TCH - PRIME ENTERTAINMENT
St. Petersburg is the cradle of the famous Russian ballet created by Marius Petipa in the 19th century and which is characterised by its elegance, joy and pleasant lightness, elements that make it stand out from the other classic dance “schools”.
St. Petersburg Festival Ballet was created in 2009 to represent the best traditions and spirit of St. Petersburg ballet in long-term European and world tours. In the past five years it has travelled with great success to all the major cities of Europe and to countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Iceland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia.
The Sleeping Beauty, the production that we will see this Christmas at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, presents this strictly classic elegance with a fresh, revived look adapted to the aesthetic needs of the 21st century. Excellent soloists and dancers, marvellous stage design and costumes by the world-renowned stage and costume designer Vyacheslav Okunev (Bolshoi Theatre, Mariinsky Theatre, La Scala in Milan) always accompanied by the wonderful music of Tchaikovsky, together create a wonderful dance production which will linger in the memory of those who watch it.
With Elena Kotsioubira in the role of Aurora.
